Gefilte Fish
Ingredients
21/4 lb.carp
21/4 lb.pike
4 onions
4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 eggs
1/3 tsp. sugar
3 carrots
1 white dinner roll, soaked in water
Preparation:
Scale fish and carefully remove skin.
Seperate fish
from bones.
Combine onions
(diced), eggs, sugar, salt, pepper, and white dinner roll with
ground fish and mix well.
Fill fish
skin with stuffing.
On bottom
of large pot, put slices of onions and carrots.
Then place
stuffed fish in pot.
Add head and
tail to fish.
Bring to a
boil and then lower flame and cover. Simmer for two hours.
Serve cold
or warm on a tray.
